Whether you are looking for a place to grab breakfast before your race, a filling lunch, or a delicious post race fix, there is a restaurant in Boone that is sure to satisfy. From Melanie's Cafe (pictured left), to Vidalia Restaurant, and Black Cat Burrito (pictured right), downtown Boone can cater to anyone from a famished racer to a distinguished foodie.
Below is a selection of some of our favorite establishments. As an added bonus, each of the restaurants listed below overlooks part of the Mountaineer Crit course!
The Local is the premier stop for American cuisine made from scratch. Stop by for some killer food, live music, cocktails, and numerous micro-brews on draft. Conveniently located on Howard Street, directly on course, with outdoor seating to ensure you don't miss any of the racing action.
Cha Da Thai serves up some of the best Thai food in the area. A favorite among locals, college students, and out of towners, Cha Da Thai won't disappoint. Located next to The Local, patrons also have the option of sitting on the outdoor porch under the shade of umbrellas to enjoy the races.
Cafe Portofino, affectionately known by locals as "Portos", is housed on course on River Street, in the old Tweetsie Railroad station. Portofino offers up fine dining in a casual atmosphere that is sure to satisfy even the hungriest of post-race cyclists. Stop by for killer Pasta Dishes, mouthwatering Steak, and delectable Sandwiches.
