Heavy exposure! Off-White™ 2022 Fall/Winter Collection Released
Virgil Abloh's sudden death shocked the world. While remembering this great designer, who will take over Virgil's Off-White™ and Louis Vuitton positions has become a hot topic in the fashion circle. Previously, Off-White™ was the first to announce, announcing Ibrahim Kamara as the brand's artistic and image director. Born at Central Saint Martins to study fashion communication, Ibrahim Kamara serves as the editor-in-chief of the fashion magazine "Dazed", and also often does styling for fashion magazines Vogue, Italia, Another, and has also served as the fashion editor of "i-D" in the past. The Off-White™ Fall/Winter 2022 campaign has been unveiled recently, incorporating the unique aesthetic vision of Off-White™'s current artistic and image director, Ibrahim Kamara. Shot by Rafael Pavarotti, it presents the fall-winter men's and women's ready-to-wear collection designed by Virgil Abloh. The shooting took place in Chefchaouen, Morocco's blue city, where electric blue has long been Off-White™'s signature color. Iconic menswear, womenswear, eyewear collections and Off-White™ Paperwork, the first beauty collection to launch in Spring 2022. The womenswear collection presents a fresh aesthetic language with a “Party Girl” vibe. Dresses are shortened to an extreme length, while the waistline of trousers is noticeably dropped. Tightly textured and cut-out jacquard, flirty lambskin and sheer layers make the knitted pieces flowy and glamorous, while Swarovski crystals add radiance and luxury to the look. These sexy, sophisticated silhouettes complement the reimagined cargo jacket. Box pockets from skateboarding culture have also been extended to the design of ski jackets. Combining the characteristics of skateboards and snowboards, there are oversized but unmistakably feminine jackets, trousers, workwear and bodysuits featuring high-tech three-layer performance textiles. The menswear collection showcases the 'Skiwear' capsule collection, pairing modern tie-dye printed technical details with three layers of high-performance textiles, reimagining skiing through a minimalist lens. These design elements represent a creative continuation of Off-White™'s new minimalism, clearly developed in knitwear, tailoring, coats and outerwear, and have become a unique garment design language. The loose, exaggerated designs also subverted the structures and fabrics of traditional menswear: canvas was used for the first time for down jackets; technical tweed wool was used for Mackintosh jackets; and high-quality leather was used for hoodies, trousers, slacks and shirts. Meanwhile, Off-White™'s signature arrows have been reinterpreted as "Racing Arrows," reinforcing the collection's cleverly innovative character with playful detailing. Likewise, knitted products are enough to show the close combination of skateboard street culture and high fashion, including giant polo shirts, jerseys and high-quality wool knitted turtlenecks woven from the finest yarns. Spiritual heritage is achieved through rich details and superb technical skills, as well as a continuation of the Off-White™ classic graffiti pattern. Off-White™ 2022 autumn and winter series is now on sale worldwide, and interested friends may wish to go to the official designated channel to start.
